The historic distillery district may be the most picturesque neighbourhood in downtown Toronto. One of Toronto's hottest tourist attractions, the district features more than 80 ground-floor shops and boutiques in the restored and renovated Victorian-era buildings of this former Whiskey distillery. The Distillery itself closed in 1990 but was purchased and renovated in 2001 with the aim of creating a pedestrains-only village dedicated to arts and entertainment.
