“Great bibimbap, best for Korean side dishes”Great for a casual lunch or dinner. Better food than other Korean places I've tried in the area.The best thing about this place has to be the banchans (Korean side dishes/appetizers). Each one was delectable- sauteed yu choi greens, noodles, sweet and spicy yams, daikon with cucumber, kimchi and one more which ive forgotten but must have been delicious as we gobbled them all up before our bibimbap arrived. They also gave us crisp little salads to start with a lovely creamy dressing. The woman who I assume was the owner was very sweet and friendly, and actually brought us another round of banchan to go with our bibimbaps. YUM. The bibimbap was delicious- served in a hot stone bowl that was just the right temperature (this is very important for bibimbap). I got the LA ribs bibimbap- at 13.95, it was a little pricier than the original, but well worth it. The meat was succulent and tangy, albeit quite chewy- the waitress noticed my difficulties and actually brought me scissors! I didn't mind the chewyness, would definitely order again for the flavour alone. You had to pay extra if you wanted an egg in the LA ribs bibimbap which I found a little strange. Casual but nice atmosphere, good music and quite busy, I got the impression most of the people in there were not first timers like me, which was a good sign. My cousin and I had a blast and scraped every last grain of rice off our bowls.I will surely be back next time I'm in TO!

“Great food, great service”Service: I came in between lunch and dinner rushes and had a big, long solo meal at Kimchi. The waitstaff was friendly and prompt, but never hovering. Even when the restaurant began to fill up, the waitstaff still kept an eye out, and it was never hard to get their attention. Ambience: The booths looked comfy, but the chair and table I had was also quite comfortable. The bathrooms were nice, but in need of a cleaning.Food: The portions were good sized, and the appetizer dishes were good, with a really nice, homemade-tasting kimchi (though I don't know if it was). The hot stone bowl of bulgogi bibimbap was delicious, as was the kimchi pancake with house-made soy sauce mix. Drinks: For teas, they had bagged Korean barley tea, though it wasn't on the menu. They do have alcohol on the menu, but didn't have any Korean beers on offer. Overall: I will definitely return whenever I get the chance!

This is a really great place to get Korean food! They've got really good appetizer dishes and on top of that their stone rice is amazing. They've got really good service there too. One waitress is incredibly cute like she was at least an 8!!!! Well if u like Korean food or chicks, this is the place!

“"Hot stone" comfort !”Comfortable new Korean restaurant on Dundas near Elizabeth - booth seating, nice décor and charming and attentive service ! Kimchi House's signature is their piping hot black stone bowls in which they serve up a variety of Bibimbap dishes as well as broth soups and noodle dishes. We had the Bulgogi Bibimbap and the Spicy beef soup ; we also chose an appetizer to share which was the mixed Tempura. The spicy beef soup was awesome - just the right amount of richness and heat - the spicy kind as well as the temperature ! The Bibimbap was probably good mainly because of its service in the hot stone bowl; while everything was fresh and good the bulgogi was actually a bit dry - I have had better Bibimbap at Salmon Lovers on Dundas and Mccaul. The tempura were excellent even if a bit oily. However, the standout here is the elegance and comfort of the restaurant and the parade of delicate little bowls of condiments/side dishes that arrive free with every order. My favorite amongst these was the delicate fresh and crisp salad with what is hands down the best dressing I have ever had...........I literally used a teaspoon to catch every last drop of it. Sweet and milky at the same time............I wish I had the recipe for this one ! The kimchi, marinated sprouts, fried tofu and Chinese broccoli greens were all good and recognisable from visits to other Korean restaurants. However, they also had some chilled potatoes in some sort of soy based sauce that were new to me and very pleasing. The tea was disappointing to me as the waitress had told us that their green tea was special and was based on fermented brown rice. We tasted nothing but water really and unlike many restaurants you are charged for the tea here. The cost for this satisfying meal came to 35$ tip and tax included and we will definitely be back to try out some of the other Bibimbap varieties as well as the Kalbe short ribs !

“Ask for extra potatoes”I went for the bibimbap, hot stone chicken. It comes in, you guessed it, a hot stone bowl. There's a bed of rice on the bottom, a bunch of bean sprouts, other vegetables and a healthy portion of chicken. The best part though, is before your meal is served, you get four little dishes of tasty hors d'oeuvres. Tops, amongst the four is the boiled potatoes in a scrumptious light-brown sauce. The taters alone will bring me back for a return visit. A green salad with ginger dressing, and miso soup, comes with all this for around ten bucks.

“Service was interesting, and great food!”When asking the server about the Bulgogi Stew, he replied "this is for Korean's".Interesting reply, so we all opted for various Bibimbap's. The Bulgogi and Pork were definitely our favorites!Recommended, enjoy!

“Definitely for trying”There seem to be so many Korean restaurants currently rated above this one on Trip Advisor, so I must assume that the competition is very hot indeed. Interesting, tasty food, keenly-priced too. Service impeccable and friendly. The rather incongruous piped classical jazz somehow felt OK. Marked it with a "must return".

“Pleasant surprise”You can never tell which side of average restaurants in this area will fall until you've eaten there. There is a massive amount of foot traffic in this area due to both tourists and locals so restaurants can get away with low quality without going out of business. We've been disappointed in various places in the area at various times in the past.So what a surprise this place was. It was pretty busy for lunch but the service was great and the owner even came by to ask us how we liked the food. The food was great, well above average and plenty of it. It's a little more upscale than other Korean restaurants we've been to. The prices are fair though and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to eat on this part of Dundas St West. One of the better Korean meals we've ever had, in fact.

“Very good authentic Korean food”I stopped by here for lunch while walking the city. I have visited Korea before and became a big fan of kimchi so this place caught my eye. The menu includes a great range of Korean foods as well as a nice selection of Asia-Pacific beers. I chose a Kimchi bibimbap dish; if you haven't had bibimbap before that alone is well worth a stop here to try. In retrospect I would have chosen the basic dish instead as the flavor of the kimchi was somewhat drowned out in the larger dish, but nonetheless it was a very tasty dish. Restaurant-served Korean food always includes numerous side dishes (including a small dish of kimchi) and these were quite tasty as well.My only complaint (and hence a rating of 4 instead of 5) was the so-so service. I had to prompt the waitress on a consistent basis to place my order and again for the check. Since the restaurant was not crowded that was a tad unacceptable. Nonetheless this was well worth the stop!

“Wonderful authentic Korean restaurant in Toronto”Dinner was very good. Reminds us of authentic dishes we had in Korea.The owner was very professional and checked to ensure we enjoyed the food. She shared that the restaurant was less than 6 months old and the she's own after being in the restaurant industry since 1985. Da Woon, our server was very nice, as well.We had the pork Bibimbop dolsot and la bi beef soup. Both were excellent, prepared authentically and tasty.Most of the patrons were Asian. We plan to come again. Thank you ajumma Lee!
